What We Believe

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH: is a conservative Southern Baptist Church affiliated with the SOUTHERN BAPTIST  CONVENTION

And The KENTUCKY BAPTIST CONVENTION and the BLACKFORD / BRECKENRIDGE BAPTIST ASSOCIATION. 
 

We believe that the Holy Bible is the infallible, inerrant word of God, and is the final authority in our relationship to God.  

We believe that Jesus is the virgin-born Son of God. 

We believe that He died for our sins on the cross of Calvary and that He arose from the grave on the third day.

We believe that salvation is by GRACE through FAITH and not of works lest any man should boast.
 

We  believe in the eternal security of the believer and that as a disciple,  we shall give an account as to our works and faithfulness.

We believe in the eminent return of Jesus to receive His bride, which is the church, unto Himself.

SALVATION is as simple as A.B.C.                 
                            (Romans 10:9) 

            A. Accept God’s word in relation to self, sin and salvation.
            B. Believe in Christ as God’s risen Savior
            C. Confess Jesus with your mouth as “LORD”. 

CHURCH MEMBERSHIP: 
We recieve members into our church  fellowship  in  the 
following ways at our regular worship services:

          1. By a profession of faith and a candidate for baptism according to the Policies of this church.
          2. By letter from another Southern Baptist Church.
          3. By statement of faith and baptism, when of a different denomination.
